The medication of children with the diagnosis ADHD has exploded in the latest years. In the year 2006 almost 14,000 Norwegians under 20 years old used drugs against ADHD. According to numbers from Norges Apotekerforening the sale of ADHD-medicines increased by 71% from 2004 to 2006. From 1996 to 2006 the use of ADHD-medicines increased by 900%. The United Nations Office On Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has woiced its concern about the high increase in Norway, which is unique in Europe.
